While the left has proclaimed itself outrageously outraged over Rush Limbaugh's "slut" comments, folks on the right seem unexpectedly annoyed over some of Rush's advertisers pulling their ads from the show. Carbonite, for one, has drawn particular ire, no doubt because Carbonite CEO David Friend made some pompous comments about "discourse" on his way out the door. Jeffrey Lord did some digging and found that Friend has some surprising political donations in his FEC disclosures:
Friend has been donating money to the left of the left, the worst of the worst. As Lord notes, these are the folks who broadcast the most despicable of the anti-Bush propaganda during the 2000's. And, now Friend is huffing over some well-deserved harsh co mmentary directed at a left-wing activist demanding that "we" pay for her birth control?
I could understand some marginal guy living in a Mission District flat donating some stray dollars to MoveOn.org and keeping a yellowing Bushhitler sign on his wall. But, Friend is a wealthy and, presumably, sophisticated businessman, yet he's no better, rhetorically speaking, than Van Jones yelling about "The System."
Our elites are worse than we think.
