Here's something you probably don't know about the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.One of the top media consultants for British Petroleum gave free rent to a politician who became White House Chief of Staff.
And, no, this was not Karl Rove giving a freebie to Andy Card.
No, the recipient of the favor was Rahm Emanuel and the benefactor was Stanley Greenberg.
That's the teaser, but it gets worse. Greenberg is also married to Rep. Rosa DeLauro. If you watched the Obamacare signing ceremony and wondered who the lesbian standing next to Nancy Pelosi was; well that was DeLauro. Greenberg is also behind those lame "BP = Green" ads that have been running the last couple years, and which now seem like a bad joke.
Remember, Democrats are supposed to be the smart guys in American governance. And, certainly the joke is on anyone who actually believes that their Party of the Common Man/"Boot on the Throat"/"People v Powerful" rhetoric is anything other than a Hollywood fantasy. Really they are little more than Dollar-crats; people who have learned how to make a buck off of the intersection between Big Government and Big Business. They get by on cheap sentiment about "Mother Earth" and neo-Ludditism disguised as sophistication about energy's place in a modern economy. But, magically, everything is still Sarah Palin's fault.
That's probably the best reason to be a Democrat: never having to say you're sorry.
