Hot Air links to Glen Beck's latest indictment of Van Jones; that Jones is a 9/11 Truther. The Totally Obligatory Glenn Beck Rubs Obamas Face In Van Jones' Trutherism Clip

We've heard a lot about the "boycott" against Beck. What we haven't heard a lot about: (1) his ratings have skyrocketed since the boycott started; (2) the advertisers' "boycott" was not directed at Beck, but was the result of some advertisers pulling ads from all news analysis shows; and, best of all (3) the instigator of the boycott was ... Van Jones!, who wasn't busy enough with his Green Czar tasks, and was continuing to moonlight as a progressive activist.

I am not an avid Glen Beck fan. I think his show can be entertaining, but find his tendency to go off on odd tangents to be a little disconcerting to watch. Still, he got the goods on Jones in a way that no one else in the mainstream media managed to do. He did it using information gleaned from bloggers who had done little more than Google Jones' name, a level of investigation beyond the scope of the Hard News boys in NY and DC. You hear a lot of tut-tutting when Beck's name comes up. Many sophisticated conservative are clearly discomfited by him. Charles Johnson, for one, feels compelled to link every oddball Beck moment, and then declare conservatism dead so long as Glen Beck is ascendant. Progressive media people hate him almost - but not quite - as much as Rush, Sarah, and Ann. But, at least on the topic of Obama Czars, Beck is a force to be reckoned with.

August 2009 began with Jones triumphantly declaring a boycott against the "racist" Beck. It ended with Jones publicly revealed as an avowed Commuinst using "green" rhetoric to further the REVOLUTION! and as a 9/11 Truther. The only thing saving Jones from further embarassment is that this is a "Fox News" story, which - like "National Enquirer Story" about, say, a married presidential candidate fathering an out of wedlock child - doesn't count. But, if you are an Obama Czar with a nutty past, you are hereby on notice. The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy is getting its Google on.
