Smart Crisis

Althouse finds Secretray of State Hillary Clinton adopting the Democrat's action plan "Never let a good crisis go to waste."

Althouse also has priceless video of Rahm Emmanuel making the initial quotable quote. I had assumed that he said it at some off-the-cuff dinner for bigwigs. Not true: he said on national television with a great big smile on his face. Clearly, the scary-smart among us think this is a winning message. Althouse correctly points out that if Dick Cheney or GW Bush had said this, MSNBC would have created a loop to play over and over with ominous music playing in the background.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told an audience Friday "never waste a good crisis," and highlighted the opportunity of rebuilding economies in a greener, less energy-intensive way.

I should point out that Hillary has joined the Indispensable Man among members of the Administration who have solved all of the problems on their desks and are now pontificating about Global Warming (which they have almost succeeded in re-branding as "Climate Change." Oooooo. Don't want "Climate Change!"). Now, can someone please ask her whether she actually believes - along with Al Gore and Steven Chu - that the North Pole will "melt" in 5 years?
